FAQs

Is delivery free of charge?

Delivery is free on any order above £100 excluding VAT. This is with the exception of goods in the Insulation & Specialist Mortars categories. These carry separate delivery charges. Please see our delivery & returns sections at the top of the page for further details.

What are the delivery charges for small orders?

We have a standard charge of £20 + VAT (£24) with the possible exception of remote areas of the UK. Postcodes for such areas are detailed in the delivery & returns section.

Do you deliver all over the UK?

In most instances, yes. For certain remote areas a delivery charge may apply. This may differ from the standard delivery charge and will depend on the delivery postcode and size of the order. Any such charge would be advised prior to the order being processed. A full refund would be given on the order if you are unhappy with the charge.

How long will delivery take?

Delivery is usually 1 - 2 working days on stock items. Sometimes in areas in and around London this may be slightly longer.

Certain products may carry a longer lead time. This will be displayed on the product page.

How will I know when the delivery will arrive?

Once the order is processed a VAT receipt and delivery date confirmation will be sent.

At checkout, a preferred delivery date can be entered. We will endeavour to arrange this where possible but it isn't guaranteed.

Will I be informed of a delivery time slot?

In most instances, no. Deliveries are usually between the hours of 7.30am - 5pm. On the day of the delivery we may be able to get you a rough idea of timescale if requested.

We can; at the point of ordering ask for a call 30 minutes or so beforehand from the driver. Please note that this will not be possbile on small, courier type deliveries.

How are orders delivered?

Depending on the products ordered; deliveries are usually made on 17 tonnes, crane off load (hi-ab) wagons or 26 tonnes Moffett (fork-truck) wagons. On certain products such as Roof Tiles, Bricks & Heavy Landscaping products, a tail-lift (platform that lowers down) wagon may be used. On such occasions a pump truck will move the pallet to the most suitable location. Please note: the pump truck can only operate on solid, level ground.

Depending on the method of delivery used, deliveries may sometimes only be placed kerb-side unless the driver has a suitable and safe way of delivering on to the property.

If you have any concerns over the access, narrow roads, parked cars, overhead cables, trees and branches that may cause a potential hazard, please contact us beforehand and we will do our best to advise. If this is the case, we will look on Streetview to assess the options available.

On small orders weighing less than 25kg a typical courier service will be used.

Do I need to be in to receive the delivery?

This all depends on the type, value and weight of the materials ordered. If you require delivery to be made when there is nobody at the property, prior authorisation must be given taking in to account the possible restrictions as detailed above. If the delivery cannot be made due to any such problems then a redelivery/cancellation charge may be applied. This will be at the discretion of the delivery service.

We will always try to facilitate any delivery requests and instructions. If we forsee any possible problems, we will notify you in advance to see if an alternative solution can be found.

Is weekend delivery possible?

This can be arranged but is usually very expensive. Certain suppliers we deal with sometimes deliver on a Saturday morning at no extra cost but this generally would need to be arranged well in advance. If this is required, you would need to contact us before ordering to make sure it is possible

Will my all of my order be delivered on one vehicle?

Sometimes, sometimes not. This is all down to the mix of products ordered. As we source materials from numerous manufacturers and distributors to get the best possible deals; multiple deliveries may need to be made. All of this will be communicated via email when the delivery confirmation is sent.

Can I arrange samples?

On some products it may be possible to arrange a sample. If this isn't possible, the nearest location where you can view the product can be provided.

Why does the product look a different colour to the image on the website?

This is all explained in the Delivery & Returns link at the top of this page.
