10mm gravel is ideal as a decorative gravel for drives and gardens. 20mm is the recommended size for driveways as it has a tendency to get stuck in car tyres.
Around the garden, gravel/shingle is most often used for decorative purposes, around flowerbeds, in pots and on paths where it provides a comfortable walking surface. It is also used as a good weed suppressant as it blocks the weeds from coming through. Other uses include drainage pipe bedding and for mixing with sand, cement and water to provide a smoother finished concrete.
