100mm Kooltherm K107 Insulation Board by Kingspan

If you’re looking to achieve a high thermal performance for tiled or slated pitched warm roof spaces then Kingspan have the perfect answer with their premium performance K107 phenolic insulation sheets.

Replacing the previous K7 version, these roof insulation boards now have a lower lambda value which means the same thickness is now more thermally efficient than its predecessor.

Only available in full packs consisting of 3 sheets 2400 x 1200 x 100mm which have a total coverage of 8.64m2.

Kingspan K107 100mm is suitable for use in tiled or slated pitched roofs, dwarf walls, attic floors, dormer windows and flat ceilings. It is also ideal for retrofitting attics where re-roofing is not needed. The boards are easy to cut and handle, and they can be installed quickly and efficiently compared to some other commonly used insulants.

Benefits of Phenolic K107 insulation board:

  • Premium performance 100mm rigid phenolic insulation boards -
thermal conductivity as low as 0.019 W/m.K.
  • Unaffected by air infiltration
  • Resistant to the passage of water vapour
  • Easy to handle and install compared to some other commonly used insulants
  • Ideal for new build and refurbishment

Where can you use Kooltherm K107:

New build pitched roofs

Kingspan Kooltherm K107 can be used to insulate new build pitched roofs of all types, including tiled, slated and metal roofs.

Retrofit pitched roofs

Kooltherm K107 is also ideal for retrofitting attics where re-roofing is not needed. The thin boards can be installed under the existing roof tiles or slates to improve the thermal insulation of the attic.

Dwarf walls

K107 Kooltherm can be used to insulate dwarf walls, which are low walls that are often built around the perimeter of a roof terrace or balcony.

Attic floors

100mm K107 can be used to insulate attic floors to improve the thermal performance of the attic and reduce energy bills.

Dormer windows

K107 can be used to insulate dormer windows, which are small windows that are built into the slope of a roof.

Flat ceilings

K107 Kooltherm can also be used to insulate flat ceilings in attics and other rooms.

Further Benefits of Kingspan Koolthem 100mm:

Easy to install

K107 Pitched Roofing Board is lightweight and easy to handle, making it quick and easy to install compared to some other commonly used insulants. The boards can be cut to size with a sharp knife or saw and then friction fitted in to place.

Durable and resilient

Kooltherm K107 is a tough and durable board that is resistant to moisture, pests and mould. It also has a long lifespan, making it a good investment for your home.

If you are looking for a high-performance warm roof insulation board for your pitched roof or other application, Kingspan Kooltherm K107 is a great option to consider.

Kingspan K107 FAQ

What is the thermal value of K107?

Thermal conductivity, also known as the lambda value, is a measure of a material's ability to conduct heat. The lower the thermal conductivity, the better the material is at insulating against heat transfer. Kooltherm K107 is an excellent insulator with a thermal conductivity of 0.019 W/mK, which means it is very effective at preventing heat from escaping through your roof.

What is the difference between K103 and K107?

Technically speaking, not much. Both boards are produced in 2400 x 1200mm sheets and are manufactured with the same phenolic insulation that has matching thermal performance. The main difference is the facing. The K103 has a glass tissue based facing whereas the K107 has a low emissivity foil facing. The K103 is specifically designed for use in floors. The K107 is designed to be mainly used in roof construction.

Does Kingspan insulation need an air gap?

Ventilated roofs demand a 50 mm air gap directly above the insulation layer to promote airflow and prevent moisture buildup. To achieve this, timber stop battens should be securely fastened to the rafters during insulation installation. These battens will create the necessary 50 mm air gap. Once the air gap is established, the required thickness of board can then be pushed in to place to finish flush with the face of the rafter.
